[Chase/Foreman AU]

Chase knew that Foreman needed help with the Vicodin and that it would probably be time for another go -- seeing as he was getting accustomed to Vicodin cycles, what with House around -- and headed for the back room, checking to see if Foreman was still dozing.

He lingered in the doorway, just watching him. He seemed just so peaceful and he wondered how much had happened between them, how much Foreman knew about Chase that he didn't even know about himself.

Eventually, he cleared his throat quietly. "Foreman?"

"Pretty much," Chase agreed with a snort. "He's helping my ex give birth."

"Figures," Foreman snorted. "House always likes to get under your skin."

"Just like home," he remarked. "He and I...have gotten pretty close here, though."

Foreman lifted a brow, then realized he still had that damn head wound on his forehead.

"Ow. Anyway, what? House has feelings?"

Chase snorted. "No, he's the same as ever. He just...let me in, I guess. It took about four months."

"Let you in as in let you use your mouth for something other than insane theories?"

Foreman was still skeptical about House being emotionally open, despite that little tete-a-tete they'd had about pain.

Chase cleared his throat and ran a hand through his hair. "There might have been...a few incidents."

"Blow jobs, Chase," Foreman said pointedly. No sense in beating around the bush.

"Does this island make everyone sample the other side or something?"

"No," he disagreed easily. "No blowjobs." He was at least firm about that. "And...I was a little bit before, so, not in my case."

"Before? Did you ever think about me?"

Yeah, that was a stupid question, but Foreman was curious.

Chase stared at Foreman, gaping and stammering for a moment. "Well...yeah? Yeah," he confirmed. "I did."

"Huh." Foreman was going to need a minute to think that one over. Sure, he guessed he was attractive but he'd never guessed Chase was attracted to him.

"You hid it really well."

"I flirted with you," Chase laughed quietly, amazed that Foreman was really that oblivious about that. "Remember? Kid with the measles?"

Foreman was taken aback.

"That was flirting? What did you say? I didn't even catch it," he confessed.

"It was more in the body language," Chase commented, still bemused by all of it. "Just trying to get you to smile, get you to laugh."

Foreman was pretty dumbfounded.

"I just thought you were being friendly. What is it you like anyway? If you don't mind, that is. Never had a guy come straight out and admit he liked me before."

Chase relaxed back against the chair again. "I don't really know how to explain it," he admitted. "I mean, intelligence and looks, I guess."

That was good enough for Foreman.

"You ever think about acting on it? Admitting it to me?"

Chase just stared at Foreman, not really sure what to say. "I...don't know? Maybe."

Foreman let out a quick sigh (though he'd never admit it was one) and rolled over.

"Pity. I'd have said yes. Not like I've never been curious."

Chase's eyes were very, very wide now. "You...what?"

Foreman shrugged as best he could lying down.

"You're a good looking guy, I'm a good looking guy, I've never been with a guy...willing to try everything once, see if I like it. Logically, it's stupid to turn down pleasure. It's just an unknown, not something bad."

Chase was now just utterly bamboozled. "So, we would have..."

"Sex, Chase." he said bluntly. "Don't go all altar boy about it."

Chase just was trying to wrap his head around it. Him and Foreman and...sex. Wow. Okay, yeah. "I never thought you would...you were..."
