[for Johnny]

Chase was in the clinic, taking a new inventory. Now that Foreman was there and another doctor named Beckett, apparently, it was probably for the best they have an updated count. There was a woman named Claire Fraser that he really should meet, considering so many files had her name on them, but he was in and out.

Currently, he was chewing on the end of a pen, cupboards open and mentally counting how many samples jars were in there along with bandages.

Johnny breathed on the end of the stethoscope, mocking Chase a little, lips curled in a slight grin.

"Right there, hmm?" He reached over to press the end exactly where Chase said.

"Hey, cool," he said, face lighting up a little when he heard Chase's heartbeat.

Chase smirked at him -- but there was the hints of a genuine grin in there -- when Johnny mocked him and he sat there like a good patient.

He couldn't help but be amused when Johnny just lit up. "Will I make it, Dr. Storm?"

"Dr. Storm's my dad," Johnny said, moving the stethoscope over Chase's skin in a completley not-doctorly way. "I used to steal his stethoscope and play doctor with the neighborhood girls." He flashed Chase a quick grin. "And boys."

Chase was just watching the stethoscope go in its own little patterns. "Yeah, I just bet you were a regular casanova," Chase snorted, reaching over and taking the earbuds out of Johnny's ears. "You'll damage your hearing."

Johnny gave Chase a knowing smirk. He'd heard Chase's heartbeat speed up when he'd moved the stethoscope over his chest.

"Are you gonna do me now?" he asked, all innocence.

Chase yanked the stethoscope back, smirking at Johnny. "Normally, when I'm good with the doctor, he gives me a lollipop."

"I am fresh out of lollypops," Johnny replied with a sigh. "Anything else you want?"

Chase glanced up at Johnny, meeting his eyes between the short distance and he just smiled a little. He just shrugged, buttoning up the second button from the top. "I was always partial to cherry suckers, but if you're all out..."

"I've made your mouth red plenty of times before," Johnny replied with a grin. "I think that counts."

Chase grinned at that, pushing a hand through his hair and nodding. "Yeah, you have," he agreed, taking back the stethoscope. "But I think we can rule that out, if we're all out of the cherry."

Johnny nodded in agreement. "Too bad. That we don't have any suckers, I mean."

He glanced around the clinic. "So...you mentioned something about slipping?"

Chase pushed himself up and tossed the stethoscope to the counter, buttoning up the last button on the shirt. "There's no actual cases here. All the things I learned in med school. They'll just...slip."

"I get that. Like getting out of shape if you quit jogging, right?" Johnny felt the same way. Sort of.

"So...if you weren't going to be a doctor...what would you do?"

"I told you that first time we met," he said, almost nostalgically. "I'd have been a priest. Well, or a psychologist, I guess."

Johnny smiled a little. That conversation seemed years ago. "Can't really be a priest here with a husband, can you?"

Chase stretched out slightly and turned from Johnny, setting back to do the inventory. "Nope."

Well, that was interesting. Johnny eyed Chase as he turned away. "That still on? The wedding?"

Chase shrugged. "Of course it is. We don't fight. We're fine," he said, almost defensively.

Johnny snorted. "Don't make me call you Rob," he teased.

Chase shrugged. "Jay hasn't been getting along with my mother so well. Mum's trying. Jay seems to have...well, stopped."

"That's gotta suck," Johnny said. He picked up a canister of q-tips and chucked one at the back of Chase's head.

Yes, he was five.

Chase turned around at the light barrage. "Someone might need those one day, you know. To...clean their...ears."

Johnny's eyebrows went up, all innocence. "Then stop making me talk to the back of you. Your ass isn't that cute."

"I've heard otherwise," he said thoughtfully, hopping up on the counter again, facing Johnny. "Okay, so. I assume you and Yorick are still blissfully wonderful together?"

"Better than ever," Johnny replied. "I took him to meet Robb's family for Rickon's birthday--before the whole coma thing. It was like. Our first public date. Kind of weird, but still. He offered to give Bran his helper monkey. To a kid he'd just met. Is that not awesome?" It was hard being in a relationship with the sweetest man alive sometimes.
