The Doctor looked at each of them, opening them and grinning like a loon with each one. He looked over the paper, flushed, and folded it, putting it in his pocket to read later, then kissed Chase on the cheek. "You made the cupcakes?"

"I made them all by myself," he said, more proud of that than anything, beaming away as he looked the Doctor in the eye. The paper...well. "I know you're nine hundred and seventy six, but according to what you look like, it's thirty four. Which is why the paper is thirty-four things about you that I love so much that I'm not sure how I got by without them before."

He could be a hopeless romantic. He just had to be in love, completely and totally.

The Doctor promptly ate one, without a word further. Mouth half full and a smear of frosting on his upper lip, he said, "You are entirely too much, you know that?"

Chase gave the Doctor a dubious look when he ate the cupcake like he was all of five-years-old and leaned over with a napkin to wipe off the smeared frosting, giving him a pointed smile. "It's a gift. Now, that t-shirt took me five hours to find. So don't rip it for some idiot's sake this time. Got it?"

"What if it was a really important idiot," the Doctor said. "An idiot that I love dearly to bits and bits?" He flushed slightly. There were still people around.

Chase just leaned forward on the counter, his elbows set to the material of the bar as he peered up at the Doctor. "You still shouldn't rip up a perfectly nice shirt for him. That, by the way," he added quietly, "is an exact copy."

There was another gift for the Doctor, but that one couldn't be given in public and Chase just wanted to bask in the moment of watching the Doctor flush like that.

"I noticed," the Doctor said, and leaned in, kissing him once on the lips. "Thanks, love. Really." He was sure he tasted of wine and buttercream.

Chase leaned up and cupped the Doctor's chin with his palm, bringing him closer because wine and buttercream made an incredibly intoxicating taste and he kissed deeper, tucking the parchment into his suit-jacket pocket for later. He kissed up the Doctor's jaw towards his ear, just the slightest bit possessive. "There's more gift."

The Doctor kept kissing him, sucking once on his lower lip before Chase eased away and up. "Like what?" he asked, voice slightly husky.

Chase grinned, darting in for yet another kiss while the Doctor was speaking, grasping what he wanted, right in front of him. "It's at home," he informed the Doctor, leaning in and kissing him harder, trying to suck the buttercream-wine taste out.

"Then maybe we should go there," the Doctor mumbled against the kiss. Before his trousers got too tight for his liking and someone saw them kissing and threw a muffin at them or something.

In which case, Chase would do his best to catch it with his mouth. Like a seal. But until then, he kept pushing his tongue down the Doctor's throat over the bar, cupping his cheek and nearly mounting the materials to get closer to the Doctor.

So the Doctor, seeing as Chase hadn't quite picked up on the hint, grabbed him, scooped him up over the bar, and kissed him again, heading towards the exit.

Chase nearly fell face-first to the ground, but god, it was incredibly a turn-on and he yanked to the side to grab the gifts before he joined the Doctor on the way out, pressing them at his chest. "You have to go first," he said, breathlessly. "I need to get one more thing," he protested, wetting his lips.

"Okay," the Doctor murmured and took the presents, looking a little shellshocked before he started heading home, wondering what the blazes was going on now.

Chase didn't take very long at all, even though getting into the leather trousers while so...aroused was definitely an issue. But he got the black leathers on and kept on a white button-down that was both see-through and unbuttoned as he headed back to the Treehouse, probably looking all of a figure from a Harlequin.

He also had the list in his hand.

Thirty-four reasons he loved the Doctor over anyone else. He wandered into the room, arching a brow. "Well, good birthday?"

The Doctor was...well. He was eating another cupcake. He smiled at Chase, leaning back in a chair. "I think it's been pretty well," he said, gaze flicking down his body before back up to his eyes.

"You are going to earn a belly at this rate," Chase said with a genuine laugh, wandering over with long strides, plucking the cupcake out of his hands. "That's for later. On the bed," he said, pointing to it with his index finger. And then he ate the rest of that cupcake, crumbs all over his lips.

"My cupcake," the Doctor protested, but got up and went over to the bed, stretching out on his stomach. His arse did look rather good in these jeans, he thought.

Chase followed in turn, kneeling on the bed and over the Doctor as he took out the card. "Thirty four reasons," he titled it. "That the Doctor is better than having House for a husband," he teased. "Kidding. Thirty four reasons you drive me mad. In a good way."

The Doctor rolled his eyes and settled in, chin in hands, like a little boy being read a story. "There are good ways? G'on."

Chase settled into a straddle when he got the Doctor facing him. "One," he began. "Your hair. It drives me nuts, it's sometimes possessed by an alien, I choke on it in the morning, but god, you look so good when you're all dozy and it goes everywhere. Two," he listed, keeping the page out of the Doctor's reach. "I love your height. And the way you're completely aware of it." He was idly tracing his fingers over the Doctor's leg as he spoke. "Three. Your accent. Especially when you're sleepy. Four, the way you look and feel when you wake up."

The Doctor grinned a little, settling and stretching against him, only half trying for the piece of paper. "How's that, number four?" he asked. "You need to elucidate."

Chase kept the paper out of reach, grinning away. "The way you're totally not even halfway to alert and make those little snuffling noises and nuzzle into me like a puppy," he clarified. "Number five, the way you look when you're naked. Six, the way you explain things to me like bananas, and the French. Seven, the sex. Simply put. Eight, the way you smell of ocean and fabric softener and sex and home and bananas."

"Wait now, I think the sex shouldn't be simply put," the Doctor said, "as it is quite a big deal and very important." He leaned his head on his hand and waited. "Also, I don't smell of sex."

Chase leaned down to kiss the Doctor, mumbling a 'there's more about the sex later' into his ear before nipping his jaw. "And you do smell of it. When we have sex late at night and wait til morning to clean up? It sets in. Sweat and sex and just you. It's intoxicating," he breathed. "Nine, your tendency to ramble like you're on something and the way it gets my energy going. Ten, your amazing, incredible, huge brain," he praised, tapping it. "Eleven, that oral fixation of yours. I swear to god, I spend most of my time in the clinic thinking of it."

He knew the list mostly by heart and tossed it just behind him. "Twelve, the way you cook for me. Amazing things, too, not just junk."

"You cook pretty well too." The Doctor might have been thinking about how to best use the oral fixation to his own advantage later on. If Chase thought ahout it so much. He tapped a fingernail against his teeth.

"I'm passable," he accepted as he leaned down and rocked, his leather trousers causing a slight amount of friction. "Thirteen," he murmured, voice low and deep. "The way you wear a suit jacket. Fourteen, the way you look when you tell me you love me. Fifteen, the way you can make me beg with a single dark look at me. Sixteen, insegni l'italiano perfetto. Seventeen, you and I can just sit here and talk about everything in the world, just anything, and I know we could do that for hours."

"More than passible." The Doctor leaned in and flicked the crumbs of cake from the corner of Chase's lips with his tongue, then eased back to stretch out again.
